[nrhhh] NRHHH Winter Camp Cancelled

Hello All

As advised at Hash tonight, we have had to cancel the NRHHH Winter Camp which was planned for this weekend.

Sorry for the late notice, but we have only been made aware this afternoon that the pub changed hands on the weekend and will not be open until after the coming weekend - which is too late for us!

Consequently the planned Friday night dinner could not go ahead and the pub cannot accommodate any guests. They requested that we contact those who have booked rooms of the cancellation of their booking.

Additionally, the caretaker at the campsite was proving most unhelpful in allocating a dedicated area for our group; the General Store advised that they would have to renege on supplying the salads "as Lette has left" and there was a dire weather forecast for Saturday.

Unfortunately, the closing down of the pub was the final straw.

Once again, sorry for the late cancellation - but we tried!

[nrhhh] Hash Winter Camp

Hi Hashers,

For those that are coming to the Hash Winter Camp next weekend...

Friday:

We will reserve a table for about 20 people at Tyalgum Hotel for Friday night from 6:30pm

Saturday:

Morning at leisure - there are a couple of places for coffee in Tyalgum

Afternoon - we propose to drive to Natural Arch for a walk, leaving around 1:30pm and car share where possible. It is a short walk at Natural Arch but well worth it. If anyone wants to run -  there are plenty of quiet roads around Tyalgum

Evening - weather permitting - we will have a campfire and a barbecue in the Camp Ground.  Hash will be providing the salads and dessert - but you will need to bring your own meat, etc to barbecue and grog. There is a large camp kitchen if it is wet.

Sunday:

Depart....

Campers:

We have tried to reserve an area at the Tyalgum Campsite for about 10 tents/caravans. Hopefully this will still be available and we are not split up.

There should be nearby power poles but I would suggest you could bring some long extension cables if you want power.

Pub dwellers:

Other than the food and grog for the Saturday night barbecue, be sure to bring a camp chair.

Please note:

The direct route from Murwillumbah to Tyalgum is closed due to a land slip! You will need to got through North Murwillumbah to Chillingham to get to Tyalgum. It is only slightly longer...
