Would anyone be available for a short while after 9.00am tomorrow to help relocate the remains of the collapsed carport to the other side of the house? I will be there dragging what I can round the front of the house.

2 sheds emptied, 1 demolished, very muddy work. 1 shed to go but it's collapsing so will probably need ADF help.

Hello Garry
Sorry, but when we took down the car port, which was becoming quite dangerous,  there was nowhere else to put it.
The sections are all quite light - but take care as there's lots of protruding nails.
All the best

Hi,

I can pop in for a couple of hours tomorrow if that would work from around 8?l if that is ok?

My understanding is there will also be a follow up collection by council after the initial one is completed but you can also call 66250500 (council) and they will include Fay's address on the spreadsheet  they are maintaining for public works if they miss Fay this time around

I have been helping my daughter and her husband clean their workshop in South Lismore and baby sitting. They have lost a lot of tools and expensive machinery. I have ended up with an infected eye from the sludge.

I have 2 spare bedrooms if anyone needs a clean warm bed and a feed.

Hi Hashers,
Just a further update to my previous email. Simon, myself, Fay and Jeff the Lodger were able to access Fay's house today and spent around 5 hours starting the clean-up.  As you can imagine it was pretty horrific! We have made a fairly sizeable start and getting a big pile on the grass verge in front of Fay's house - there is very little retrievable

I will be back in the morning with Fay, although I have to catch the Crowley bus to work from Alstonville at 2pm to work till midnight. There is still plenty to do.

If Simon has already sent an email out - then just ignore this dribble.

Hi Hashers,
As you are probably all aware, Fay's (Slur) residence in South Lismore was completely inundated in the floods this week. She and her lodger Jeff (and Ellie) had to be rescued as they were in a life-threatening situation. Thankfully all are well - Fay is currently being hosted by us and Jeff is being hosted by Simon and Dale. Our hearts go out to Miss Vogue (Peta) as well as her home in College Street was completely inundated as well.

Though the situation is constantly developing - and there are no timelines - Simon is hoping to get to Fay's place today to see if he can retrieve some important items if possible. I am hoping to get to Fay's place on the weekend to assist in the clean-up. If you can assist in any way - whether it be physically or emotionally for Slur and Peta - it would be greatly appreciated if there is any opportunity to assist. If you contact me or Ali (via email) we should be able to update the situation. I may be at work in the next couple of days in Ballina (which I have not been able to access) as aged care workers have been doing double and triple shifts and need some relief.

I totally understand that some of our Hashers have been severely affected by the flooding and our hearts go out to you.

Stay Safe

Hi all,

We have started to clear out Slurrs - there is a tremendous amount of mud and devastation.

We need help.  If you can come and help tomorrow (Friday) or on the weekend please come.

The roads are open and flooding has subsided so you can get through easily.

I have not seen Miss Vogues but it will be just as bad.  We need all hands on deck with this one.

Bring sturdy gloves, wheelbarrows, clothes that you will probably never be able to wear again, and gumboots/sturdy shoes.
